The Rocket Sprocket
I shot this series on my Rocket Sprocket camera — a little plastic wonder I’d been eyeing for ages. I finally took the plunge and bought it, and I’m so glad I did.
At first glance, the Rocket Sprocket looks like a toy: all plastic, lightweight, and equipped with a wide-angle lens that seems almost too simple. But that’s the beauty of it — it’s deceptively powerful in how it transforms the ordinary. What makes it special is its panoramic 35 mm format that exposes the entire width of the film strip, including the sprocket holes. Instead of a neat rectangle, each frame stretches edge to edge, spilling into the perforated borders most cameras ignore. The result feels cinematic, raw, and unlike anything else.
I took this roll through Magic Kingdom, and even without color, the place felt alive. In a world that’s obsessed with sharpness and polish, this camera reminds me why I fell in love with photography in the first place. It’s not about perfection — it’s about the thrill of seeing the world in your own strange, beautiful way.
